If there’s one thing fashion agrees on this season, it’s that the ankle is the new it zone. The Spring/Summer 2015 runways showed a ton of variations of pants – from swingy culottes to high waisted flares – all with a crop that hits above the ankle bone. Now before you get flashbacks of capris from the early 2000’s, this new crop is a key part of the new silhouette of pants and is a trend with serious legs. To find out how to get cropped pants just right, we got in touch with the beauty behind the cool UK-based fashion blog Style & Well Being, Brittany Bathgate. She’s a master of the crop so we quizzed her on why she loves them, how to wear them and her DIY tips.
One of the cool things about Instagram is that we get to find out about the lives of the people making the things we love. Our recent ceramics obsession led us to these three babes who not only handcraft incredible wares for the home, but have that easy, “just stepped out of the studio” kind of artist style we wish we could pull off at the office.
We may never fully let go of our skinny jeans, but as editors call for their demise and we embrace the mom jean, there are way too many rad new ways to wear denim this Spring that we can’t ignore. Plus, wearing a more relaxed silhouette is kind of liberating. This season we love our jeans cropped above the ankle, straight leg, wide leg and flared. Keep rolling the cuffs of your boyfriend jeans and overalls aren’t going anywhere just yet. And the Canadian Tuxedo? Denim on denim just keeps getting better. Head to toe is just how we like it. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite street style inspiration for keeping things fresh in blue jeans.
We want to know: how are you wearing yours this Spring?
