A Decor Moodboard From New Mom Anabela Piersol
Newly full-time mom and long-time expert blogger, Anabela Piersol is known for her inspirational pictures and daily writing. Her Instagram feed @fieldguided has taken a turn onto babyville with her son Luca and we couldn’t love it more. Anabela took some time from her busy days and created a moodboard filled with her vision when planning the nursery for baby Luca.
“My ambitions weren’t too lofty and didn’t require the most expensive elements. I wanted to create a serene space that he could grow into as his personality and tastes developed. I was very inspired by many of the Scandinavian-style nurseries and homes that I’ve seen online, which are often very high contrast with black and white details. Of course, I still love color, which is brought in by special toys and board books.”
Christine Chang, Designer Of Boy + Girl Shares Her Visual Inspiration
Designed in Venice Beach and made in downtown Los Angeles, boy+girl produces playful children’s clothing. Designer Christine Chang reveals with us her visual inspiration for the brand’s current collection. Intricate, fun, and completely captivating, this moodboard could inspire our own closets.
“The Fall collection pulls from a wide range of inspiration. For boy, I always really love Japanese textile meets the great outdoors: lots of layering and the mix and match of textures, colors, prints and materials. Polka dot is a classic ‘print’ that never gets old, for this season I did tiny and big polka dots in navy and black. For girl, I like a very undone done, super feminine, lots of interesting shapes and beautiful colors. I love dreamy colors in the Fall.”
Summer dreaming with Fieldguided
What’s the biggest thing to keep in mind this summer, according to Fieldguided’s Anabela Piersol? Enjoy the little things in life and, most importantly, do absolutely and utterly nothing.
“Goals for summer: always lazy and unambitious. Cutoffs, ice cream, carnivals, and festivals. Taking plenty of dips in cool, cool water. All the fruit and all the icy cocktails.”

The Palatines designer’s inspiration for our exclusive collaboration
Jessica Taft Langdon, the talented designer behind The Palatines, gives us some visual insight into her inspiration for the exclusive slide she designed for our collaboration.
“The thing about denim is that it’s everywhere. It’s totally ubiquitous. It’s become such a staple of every wardrobe, that it can go completely unnoticed. It’s reliable, it’s quiet, but it’s great. It can become anything you want it to be. It’s iconic and anonymous at once. That kind of subtlety is the aesthetic that informs my approach to designing for The Palatines. I want the shoes to be able to go in almost any direction, stylistically. They can be worn in a quiet, unobtrusive way, or they can become more of the statement. Maybe they even become ubiquitous.”
Anabela Piersol on fashion’s enduring love of blue jeans
To help kick off Denim Month, our contributing editor Anabela Piersol of Fieldguided gathered her favorite inspiration in an ode to blue jeans.
“Is there any fabric in fashion that is more classic, more enduring, or more versatile? Available in deep indigo hues to the palest of blues, it’s easy to see why jeans have become iconic. From high fashion to work-wear, from Hollywood to the runway to the street, denim will continue to endure forever.”
