We looove instagram and Danni Remender makes us love it even more. Danni’s from Newport Beach in California. She has two gorgeous kids Edie (4) and Tommy (3) and runs the sweetest online kids store called Fawn Shoppe. Her instalife has us constantly wanting to see more, that or wanting to be her. We needed to find out how she copes with doing it all, so we asked her a few questions on motherhood. Her answers make us want to be her even more.
HOW DO YOU BALANCE BEING A MOM & RUNNING A SUCCESSFUL ONLINE SHOP?
I think when you love doing something- you make it work. I find the time somehow and have a supportive husband. I love all of my roles right now. My kids are getting to the age where they don’t need me as much so I can throw myself into building the shop.
WALK US THROUGH A TYPICAL DAY IN YOUR SHOES
My co-owner, Kristin and I plan and plan. I wake up before everyone and take a couple of hours to do emails and work on customer care questions. Then throughout the day, Kristin and I over think and agonize over every detail to do with Fawn Shoppe. The middle of the day is all kids; classes and play dates bookended by ‘work’. We’re a well-oiled machine over here these days.
WE LOOOVE EVERYTHING THAT YOU POST ON INSTAGRAM (& SO DO 14,000 OTHER FOLLOWERS). WHERE DO YOU FIND THE TIME TO GATHER ALL OF THOSE AMAZING PHOTOS?
I love instagram so much. It’s a pretty stream of beautiful places and babies throughout my day. I love to take the time to catch a moment and have a place to share it. We’re lucky enough to live in a well-lit house. This is everything.
TELL US YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE (IN REGARDS TO BEING A WORKING MOM)
My problems are not unique. It’s the struggle of making sure you’re committed to each thing you’re doing at that moment in time. So when I’m with my kids I’m present. When I’m being a store-owner, I’m taking the time to make decisions and respond to people. There are many hats to be worn throughout the day, including wife, but I like them all.
WHAT’S BEEN THE MOST REWARDING FOR YOU?
My children and having this time with them have been the best 5 years of my life. I didn’t miss a minute and I feel so fortunate. It’s been a luxury.
ANY MOM ADVICE YOU’D CARE TO SHARE?
Oh, goodness. I’m not one for offering advice. My friends have been some of my favorite parts of motherhood. Sharing our stories and the odd bottle of wine depending on the day. So maybe surround yourself with a good support system.
